Center of Loving Hands Orphanage
Message from Yvette Siliac, founder and owner of Centre of Loving Hands Orphanage
In 1982, God called my late husband, Pastor Jean Siliac, and myself into ministry to plant churches and begin a school in Turbe, Haiti. In 1996, He drew our attention to the need of many orphans in the area who were going without care. In 2000, the Lord blessed us with a four bedroom home in which we were able to house 12 children. In 2001, the orphanage grew from 12 to 19 children. In 2003, the Lord called Pastor Siliac home. Despite the loss of my husband and many financial challenges, I was determined to continue God’s work. My daughter, Christy, and I were praying and we asked God to give us a name for the orphanage. He revealed the name, “Centre of Loving Hands Orphanage”. Hands are a symbol of service being used by God to serve Him. Our motto became, “A loving word, a loving touch, and a loving hand.”
Past
The Centre of Loving Hands Orphanage, located in Turbe’, Haiti, was founded in 1996 by Pastor Jean Siliac. Following his death in 2003, Yvette Siliac, his wife, became the sole owner of the orphanage. In 2009 Loving Hands was in financial strain when God led two separate mission teams to the orphanage, one from Rhode Island and one from Michigan. Since then He has provided sponsors for the children and has called Christian mission teams to improve the facility. In 2014, Helping Haiti’s Orphans was founded in order to allow sponsors to donate money to Loving Hands Orphanage through a not for profit organization.
